In research, humanitarian aid and development aid impact will sustainably increase when synergy, integration, and alignment of the various stakeholders is optimised.
The mission of Trimpact, a social enterprise, is to increase triple impact (People, Planet, and Prosperity) of the various state and non-state actors in the realization of integrated and sustainable development plans in developing countries.
Trimpact offers related services to the various actors such as Sustainable Integrated Development Planning (SIDP) and design and evaluation of project proposals. Secondly, we provide a cloud-based synergy and alignment tool that captures development, research and humanitarian aid projects and interactions with enterprises, lessons learned and development plans.
For the latter purpose, we created the Ufahamu (Insights in Swahili) approach based on an online platform that can contribute to the realisation of different development plans (e.g. national plans and SDGs). When using the interactive, multidisciplinary and multilevel Development Synergy and Alignment Tool (DevSAT®) the outputs and impact of the activities of the various stakeholders will increase.
The process of creating synergy and alignment may also initiate changes in current roles and responsibilities of organizations, also known as organizational innovation. This innovation will also contribute to more effective working together and consequently will further boost the combined impact of their activities.

CHANGING THE SCENERY
Work in research and humanitarian and development aid is very often a challenging business because for getting impact one depends to a large extent on other stakeholders.
It is our experience before joining Trimpact that we did not knew who was working in the same area. When we did found out, it was too late to start a collaboration, and consequently, two projects carried out more or less the same baseline in the same area with associated doubling of efforts and waste of funds that could have been spent otherwise to get impact.
